Façade design with DOKA-BARRETTE 8915

In addition to its functional effect, architectural wire mesh owns a decorative character. French firm PACE Architects understands how to leverage that effect for eye-catching results, as seen by using stainless-steel wire mesh DOKA-BARRETTE 8915 as a decorative element for an apartment building in Reims, France.

Description

The mesh elements, with 1.5 m widths and varying lengths, were tensioned between the first and third floors. The fluctuating size of the mesh elements creates a nice side effect. Elements with a length between 3 m and 5 m break and filter sunrays, serving as a built-in canopy. In total, W.S. Tyler delivered 474 m² of wire mesh in seventy ready-to-install elements, including the mounting system of round bars, eyeblots, and pressure springs.
